Surviving ammonite - shelled cephalopod more closely related to squids and octopi than modern shelled nautilus
Shell was approximately 3.5 feet long at its widest point, shorter tentacles were 2 feet long on average and longer tentacles were 5 feet long
Carnivorous, most likely feeds on crustaceans and smaller fish
Relatively docile, likely not dangerous unless threatened or provoked
Small hole beneath tentacles indicates likely ability to move via water propulsion (like squids)
No other known freshwater cephalopods
